So Christmas, birthdays and all the holiday hubbub is finally over and done with. Woo hoo I should be doing a dance, my guys are back in school. The oh so ‘not’ sweet sound of fighting is no longer the background music of the day! But life is funny, it likes to throw you a monkey wrench right when you think “ah, now I can breathe.” :~p So of course I had big plans to get the Christmas stuff out of the house, the toys and old clothes cleaned out to go to goodwill (an ongoing project), and get my house sort of decluttered, but no day 2 and I feel like I’m coming down with something. Not a small something either, of course I’m probably going to get the cooties that put me out of commission for a week. The baby will be extra fussy and the 2yr old terror will be in rare form, I can guarantee it, because after all that’s how it always works out.

Bad Habit…

I have a bad habit of starting things and not sticking to it; ask my kids how many books we’ve started and never finished. Anyway, once again I am planning on writing on my blog. I can’t believe Rob set this up for me 5/6 years ago and I only have about 3 or 4 entries that I’ve actually written. The reason being is mostly that I have a life. I have a life that is consumed by children always needing something, school functions, even as I write I have a little one hanging off my leg crying about watching a show, house cleaning, laundry, ect,ect….the list goes on. But this will be different, so I say, this time I am going to TRY to keep up on my writing,and I have a reason for believing that I will try a little harder. The reason being is that I need to do it to keep my sanity. Writing has always been one of the few things that truly makes me happy. In a life full of dirty dishes and piles of laundry, fighting kids, bills that need to be paid and other things that make life ~oh so fun ~ I have my books and my ability to write. I think this is me trying to make my way back to myself, who I was before marriage and kids. So that being said I hope that anyone reading this will do the same. Maybe not write but find that something that truly makes you happy and do it. ~Except if it is harmful to yourself or others~ DUH! Take some time for you, so you can get back to who you really are

Well 2007 is well under way, and I must say it’s been rocky to say the least. Three days into the new year my brother got in a car accident. While he was not hurt, his girlfriend, the passenger, died shortly after arriving at the hospital. So I did get my trip home this year, just not under the best of circumstances. The family seems to be holding up for the time being. I never thought I’d be on the other end of something like that. Meaning my family is not viewed as being a victim in the accident and therefore we come off as the bad people. I could not believe the amount of information that gets twisted around by the media. Not that you can ever really believe half the stuff they say, but to see first hand how underhanded the media is…it’s mind blowing. I did have to pull one of them aside and get “ugly.” Crazy, Crazy!

It’s April now and we still haven’t had any luck expanding our family. I lost another baby on March 28th. But, we are going to try again. I don’t know how many times I will try before I give up. It is so emotionally draining and I was actually thinking of calling it quits now, but I just can’t go out that way…at least one more try:~)

Our house is coming along nicely. We’re still tearing crap out of there and finding nasty things :~p It’s a lot of work but it’s fun and it’s ours. I will post pics of demolition, and I hope in a few months time I’ll be putting up pics of the finished house!

Last but not least..Congratulations to our friends Rob and Robin on the birth of their first child. A handsome baby boy..welcome to parenthood!!

It’s been a long time!!

Well I noticed it’s been over a year since I’ve even used this thing. Shame on me for bugging Rob to get my page and then not even use it. I’m not going to say I’m going to try to update more because I’d be setting myself up for failure. I’m busy, I’ve got kids, so realistically I don’t have time for it. So instead it can just be a pleasant surprise when I do update. ;~) Well a lot of things have happened since 2005. Nick had a great year in Kindergarten and is doing great in 1st grade. He has also started racing in Motocross and won his first trophy today (3rd place YEAH!!) We are so proud of him!! I am also envious I would love to get out there and fly around in the dirt, but in true mother form I will have to wait to get a bike :~( Oh well, I love watching him ride!!

The little guy Devun is…Devun!! He’ll be 3 in a few weeks and chatters NON-STOP!! He thinks people understand him. I had to tell him that it was only me(hahaha). He’s quite the character ( For Sale if anyone’s interested…JUST KIDDING). He’s truly a sweetheart and is a complete Mama’s boy. Busy, busy, busy is that little boy!

As for me and Rob, we did sell our house in March, and finally found another one. We now have 5 1/2 acres!! With an interesting little house (cottage). We are now in the process of remodeling. So we’re poor !! Just in time for the holidays! ;~) At the end of January we will be celebrating 8yrs of Marriage. Amazing, especially for me! In March I think we will try again to extend our family. Which might be kind of hard emotionally, most of you know March 21 of this year I found out I wasn’t pregnant anymore. Then I got pregnant again in May and found out it was a molar pregnancy in July. So, no babies this year and we can’t try again till March. Life goes on….

On a lighter note my little sister Lauretta had her first baby, a girl, in June. She’s a cutie and has MY eyebrows, lucky girl!! Rob’s sister had a little boy in September, a 10lber. So I get to add to my niece and nephew collection. And my friend from the “‘Heath” Dobbie, and his wife had their first baby, a boy, that looks just like his daddy. I love it!!

Well that’s about it I can’t say this has been the best year. I’ve heard more bad news this year than I have in the last 10 years I think. So come on new year, I can’t wait for 2006 to be over!!! Enjoy your holidays. I will try to get out the Christmas cards, and I hope to get my pics updated soon. Love to you all!!! L

Holy mother I’m finally writing ;~) and to my amazement I actually remembered the login info. Well let’s see here’s what’s been going on: First I’m still working on the wedding cake for Lauretta. Somedays I’m really wondering what I’ve gotten myself into. I’m not complaining it will be fine..Second Nick will be starting school next week. I’m both excited and sad, my baby won’t be home with me anymore but that’s ok I’ve got him going to the school his Bestemore works at (grandma). So that’s a twenty minute drive up north everyday which brings me to the next thing…we’re moving!! I’m renting out my house and moving back with the in-laws! This is all part of the grand scheme though we’re trying to buy a bigger house with at least 5 acres next summer. Got to make it work the best you can …so needless to say I’m going to be very busy this month and I’m going back to school too but I dropped all but one class thanks to Rob’s good sense ;~p oh yeah I will also be doing the race for the cure but actually it’s the one mile walk most people weren’t interested in the 5 mile… anyhoo that’s it for now the kids are up .

Anybody who has known me since I’ve evolved into a geek will know that I’m a Linux guy. I really like any flavor of Linux and I can show most zealots a thing or two about their l33t distro. At work perl and php are very handy. I use php for simple web applications(including our intranet) and perl of course is a grunt. I’m not sure why I chose my field of work? I really didn’t like computers at all growing up (except to play games on the C64), but as it turns out I love to solve problems and the way computers, code, and networks work just seemed to make sense to me… So here I am a GEEK
